Details on the presentations, papers and proceedings

• Speakers will be given 20 minutes to present their paper.
• Presentations can be made either electronically (PC+LCD projector will be available) or using viewgraphs (viewgraph projector will be available).
• Conference proceedings will be distributed in book form and on CD-ROM.
• Papers should be 6 to 8 pages in length.
• Paper submission deadline is February 4, 2004 and should be submitted electronically to the HF Secretariat at:   hf-secretary@saic.com
• Papers should be in black and white for the book proceedings.  Color can also be arranged for inclusion in the book for $210 per page--you will be billed directly through AIP for this option.   Papers containing color can also be submitted for inclusion in the CD-ROM.

Details on the area    

The U.S. Weather Bureau describes San Diego's weather as the most nearly perfect in America. The average year-round high temperature is 70ºF (21ºC). The yearly rainfall is light, averaging only 9.45 inches (24 cm), with most of it falling during the months of December, January and February. San Diego's warm and sunny weather is one of its main attractions.  Winters are mild with temperatures averaging about 58 degrees Fahrenheit (14 degrees Celsius). Summer temperatures range between 70 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit (22 and 30 degrees Celsius).  Generally, during the months of February through April the temperatures range from Highs in the mid-60's and Lows in the low 50's.
